We don’t have fixed meal times and we provide quality home cooking offering a wide menu selection. Residents are encouraged to help themselves to drinks when required. Additional drinks and snacks can be requested at any time.

7.00am Onwards - Breakfast offers a variety of cooked, cereals and fruit.

Lunch and Dinner - offer 2 choices of main with pudding or a packed lunch if out.

Meals can be eaten in the dinning room, lounge or in the privacy of own bedroom.

Staff are ready to offer assistance with eating where necessary, discreetly, sensitively and individually, whilst independent eating is encouraged.

Every person in our care is provided with sufficient food that is varied and wholesome. This means taking into account personal, religious and medical preferences etc. but also remembering these preferences are subject to change.

Menus are designed to maintain a balance of: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and water. This ensures we are able to provide healthy and nutritious eating for those in our care. A Qualified Dietician’s advice is sought to ensure menu is balanced.

We seek feedback on meals to make sure people are happy with the range, quality and quantity of food provided. This feedback is recorded. Supplies of food are regularly reviewed for quality and price. We are proud to cook with quality ingredients.

We recognise the importance of having regular events and activities in the home. Trips are also arranged outside the home. Both mental and physical stimulation is very important.
We have an events diary on our notice board, which is planned monthly and examples of some of these events are as follows:

•    Music and movement every Monday
•    Cookery
•    Video/DVD nights
•    Sing-a-longs
•    Scrabble, dominoes & bingo
•    Outings to local and national tourist spots
•    Leisure Centre
•    Bowling
•    Cinema

Residents help plan these events at our monthly residents meeting. All events are voluntary, as we like to treat each resident as an individual and recognise that each of us have different needs.
